Vittore Branca Center – The Olivo and Vilma Andreazza Scholarship for Italian researchers abroad.
Since 2010, young and expert scholars from Italy and abroad can plan research residencies on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, staying in the Vittore Branca Center Residence and working in the Fondazione Giorgio Cini libraries.

It offers 8 residential scholarships to PhDs and post-doc students who must not be over 40 years old on March 10, 2019. The scholarships, offered by Fondazione di Venezia, are aimed at Italian and international scholars wishing to further their studies of Italian culture – especially that of the Veneto – in one of the following fields: art history, Venetian history, literature, music, drama, early printed books and comparative cultures and spiritualities.

- University students, PhDs, post-docs, professors, writers and artists willing to pursue some research work in Venice libraries.
- To plan a research residency, it is necessary to apply via email to: [email protected] .
- Document requirements:
– degree certificates.
– a copy of a degree dissertation (for PhD students) or doctorate thesis (for post doctorate, researchers) and copies of any other relevant academic works – digital document, saved on CD ROM, DVD or USB pen;
– curriculum vitae, including knowledge of languages – printed document.
– research topic and a description (around 1,500 words) of the study program that the candidate will follow, specifying aims, time scale, and materials and documents to be consulted at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini – printed document.
– 2 reference letters from professors and scholars who supervise or have supervised the candidate (NB the letters shall be originals printed on headed notepaper of the relevant university or institution).

a gross sum of 3,100 euros as a contribution to general expenses, travel and board, paid in deferred monthly installments at the end of each month residency period by bank transfer only; accommodation free of charge for three months in the Vittore Branca Center Residence on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore and free use of the Vittore Branca Center facilities.
