Filippo Corsini Polo Scholarship in association with the International Federation of Polo

The University awards two polo scholarships each year to students who show both the polo skills and the leadership acumen to help the Regent’s polo team’s development. The scholarship is named in memory of Regent’s student Prince Filippo Corsini, an accomplished equestrian and show-jumper.

More Details

  • The Regent’s polo team is affiliated to the University of London Polo Society. It trains with and is administered by this society, but in competitive matches, the team represents Regent’s as a distinct university, separate from the society and the University of London.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • The applicant must be holding an offer from Regent’s University London.
  • The applicant must have an impressive track record in competitive polo along with the ability and commitment required to help develop the club’s presence on campus and prowess on the field.
  • The applicant must have prior experience of serving on the committee of a school club or association or exposure to similar experiences through work experience or internships.
  • The applicant must able to cover the costs of training and equipment hire (typically £1,500) as well as any overnight accommodation costs when participating in competitions.
  • The applicant must commit to a full eight-week training package each term.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

  • Two scholarships worth 15% of the chosen programme’s fees for one standard programme duration.
  • The University will cover the costs of Schools and Universities Polo Association affiliation, winter and national competition entry fees and the team kit (typically £2,000 per year).

  • Fill all the information on the application form.
  • The applicant must be getting an offer from the university and apply on Scholarship.

Second Step:

  • This scholarship is awarded through competition, the Applicant must submit the following document:

– A 500-word statement setting out your eligibility for the scholarship and what polo means to you.

– Video footage of yourself playing polo.

– A reference from a registered polo club.

Note: If shortlisted, you will be invited to interview (face-to-face or Skype) with senior members of the Student Services and Marketing, Recruitment & Admissions departments as well as a member of our partners,Cool Hooves Polo Club. Selection will be made on the basis of your application and interview.
