Travel Grants for early career researchers

The Communications journals (belongs to Nature International Journal)  are pleased to offer travel grants for early career researchers. The programme aims to help promising researchers travel to an international scientific meeting of their choice that they would otherwise have not been able to attend due to a lack of funds.

The travel grants are part of the Communications journals’ ongoing commitment. Three grants, each of €2,500 to travel to an international scientific meeting.

Program Period

  • The winners will be announced in early December 2019.
  • Applicants should plan to travel to a conference or workshop in 2020.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Postdoctoral scientist with up to 5 years research experience or currently completing a PhD. *
  • Conducting research within the areas of biology, chemistry or physics.
  • Has either been accepted, applied, or plans to apply to present a poster or oral presentation at a specific scientific meeting that will take place in 2020.
  • Can demonstrate that they have no other funds to travel.
  • The panel will put in consideration some other factors like: if the applicant demonstrated that without this funding, he would not able to travel to the event, the potentiality of a research and its impact, and the circumstances of the applicants.
  • * If you do not meet these criteria but feel that you should be considered due to a contributing factor you can contact them with the reason when you submit your application.
  • The grants will be awarded to three researchers who the judging panels feel have outstanding potential and would benefit from the opportunity.

  • Three grants, each of €2,500, are available to promising early career scientists whose research is focused upon one of the three subject areas covered by the journals to support the costs of travelling to and participating in a conference.
