The University of Queensland, Denmark Technical University – Quantum interfaces between light and microwaves.

The University of Queensland (UQ) and Denmark Technical University (DTU) have partnered on a Joint PhD Supervision Program to bolster our joint global research impact through providing a rich environment for world-leading research in quantum engineering.

More Details

Through the UQ-DTU Joint PhD Supervision Program, you can receive a scholarship to study at two leading universities on projects with supervisors from each institution guiding your research. You will be associated with UQ as the lead institution on this project, however, you will spend at least 6 months at each over the course of your degree.

UQ aim to a quantum computer that operates on the concept of optical to microwaves quantum interfere however this approach doesn’t exist but the other approach is to use radiation pressure, that the University of Queensland has performed some of the earliest experiments exploring this concept. So this PhD project aims to push those experiments into the quantum regime, demonstrating quantum conversion of information between the domains for the first time.
