The Foundation is now offering scholarships for 33 different specializations, spanning the fields of engineering, technology, health, education, tourism, and more as part of the Al Ghurair Open Learning Scholars Program.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

In order to be eligible to apply for the Al Ghurair Open Learning Scholars Program at Arizona State University, you must be:

  • Be an Arab citizen – you must not hold a second non-Arab passport. Preference is given to residents of the Arab world for at least 12 years.
  • Be below 30 years old
  • Be academically high-achieving – you must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0 in your bachelor’s degree (or 85%). Students with a master’s degree are not eligible for this program.
  • Require financial support – you must be willing and able to show proof of your financial need in your application
  • Have completed your Bachelor’s degree – or be about to complete it and not yet have completed a Master’s degree

The Scholarship covers the total cost of university tuition and other mandatory university fees for the master’s degree for up to a period of 3 years. The program also offers scholars a number of opportunities provided both through the university and/or through the Foundation. These include:

  • Access to a network of Al Ghurair Scholars around the world
  • Academic advising, career counseling and mentorship

First Step: 

  • Read and understand all the requirements to complete your scholarship application for the Al Ghurair Open Learning Scholars Program at ASU found on the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page, by clicking on the “Have Questions” link at the bottom of this page here
  • Prepare your required documents for your application.     1. Transcript of the most recent completed academic year/degree
    2. Results for all standardized tests taken (TOEFL, IELTS, SAT, GRE, …), if relevant
    3. Salary certificate for every household member who is employed.
    4. Audited financial reports or tax declaration for business, for every business owned by the household.
    5. Proof of freelance work, for every household member who is a freelancer.
    6. 6 month statements for savings and current bank accounts for the applicant, their parents and their spouse (if they are married).
    7. Family house rent contract, if applicable.
    8. Proof of continuing education and annual cost of education for each household member currently studying.
    9. Proof of physical or mental special needs or chronic illness among the household members.

  • Create and complete your Al Ghurair OLS Program application
  • Apply for the ASU Online Master’s Degree of your choice as soon as possible. Please make sure that it is a program that is supported by the Foundation by clicking here.
  • Wait to receive an email from Al Ghurair Foundation about the status of your application. Please check your inbox and junk folders regularly if there’s a clarifications on your application.
