AL GHURAIR Open Learning Scholars Program
Arizona State University (ASU) and The Abdulla Al Ghurair Foundation for Education (AGFE) are collaborating to offer scholarships to high-achieving, disadvantaged Arab youth to complete their master’s degrees online at ASU. The Al Ghurair Open Learning Scholars Program (OLSP) offers scholarships for 30+ different degree specializations, spanning the fields of engineering, technology, health, education, tourism and more.

The Foundation offers full scholarships for a range of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and other degrees relevant to the Arab region for Arab youth who fulfill the eligibility criteria . Interested students are requested to complete the online application on the student portal. However, in order to gain the scholarships, students must apply to and receive an acceptance from ASU to one of the Foundation’s supported online master’s programs, and apply to and receive an acceptance to the Al Ghurair Open Learning Scholars Program.

The Scholarship covers the total cost of university tuition and other mandatory university fees for the master’s degree for up to a period of 3 years.

In order to be eligible to apply for the Al Ghurair Open Learning Scholars Program at Arizona State University, you must be:
- Be an Arab citizen – you must not hold a second non-Arab passport. Preference is given to residents of the Arab world for at least 12 years.
- Be below 30 years old.
- Be academically high-achieving – you must have a cumulative GPA of no less than 3.0 in your bachelor’s degree (or 85%). Students with a master’s degree are not eligible for this program.
- Require financial support – you must be willing and able to show proof of your financial need in your application.
- Have completed your Bachelor’s degree – or be about to complete it and not yet have completed a Master’s degree.
Selection criteria:
Scholars are selected on a competitive basis as there are a set number of scholarships each year. When assessing applications, the Foundation is looking for:
- Evidence of financial need;
- Academic excellence;
- Leadership potential;
- A commitment to giving back to the community and/or the region.

The Scholarship covers the total cost of university tuition and other mandatory university fees for the master’s degree for up to a period of 3 years. The program also offers scholars a number of opportunities provided both through the university and/or through the Foundation. These include:
- Access to a network of Al Ghurair Scholars around the world.
- Academic advising, career counseling and mentorship.

Third Step: Complete your initial profile and then select the Al Ghurair Open Learning Scholars Program Arizona State University Online Masters application.
Fourth Step: Submit your scholarship application, including your Video (Video essays can be uploaded to either Youtube or Vimeo.) and written essay questions, before the deadline.
Fifth Step: Start your application to Arizona State University.

- Passport.
- National ID card.
- Family book.
- Refugee status documents.
- Academic transcripts.
- Six month bank statements for you, your parents and your spuse (if you’re married).
- Salary certificate for every employed member of your household.
- Termination letter for every household member unemployed for less than three months.
- Pension certificate for every retired member of your household.
- Financial reports or tax declaration for every business owned by the household.
