Program Period

Annually for the duration of the undergraduate program.

Payment made during full time study, full tuition fee paying years only. The student must be studying at the University of St Andrews, does not include study abroad.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • To be an International student starting an undergraduate study level at the University of St Andrews.
  • Applicants must be able to articulate a need for support through a personal financial statement.
  • Applicants must demonstrate a household income below the national average household income for your country of residence.

  • £1,500 towards university accommodation Or £1,500 towards private accommodation costs paid as monthly maintenance per year.

How to Apply

First Step: Applying for a place at St Andrews University.

  • After Applying for your chosen course beginning in the 2020-2021 academic year, you must allow at least two working days for issuing of your log in details before you can apply for this scholarship.

Second Step: Applying for the scholarship:

  • You can access the application form through Scholarships and Funding within My Application (applicant portal).

Then you can apply for the scholarship by following these steps:

  • Access your application by choosing ‘Log in’  Click here.
  • Choose Scholarships and funding, found under ‘Useful links’.
  • Choose View the scholarships and funding catalogue.
  • In ‘Funding search’, enter the academic year you are applying to, the award type and the study level. Choose Refresh list.

(if you are applying for the Accommodation Award, choose ‘Accommodation’ for award type instead of ‘Tuition and maintenance’)

  • You will now find a list of many scholarships. Search for the name in the Filter box.

 Third step: As part of the application you will be asked to upload the following documents:

  • Financial Statement.
  • Household Income.
  • Household income will be assessed on below average country specific income rates, please convert your local currency to Pounds (GBP) and indicate the exchange rate used in the application. We recommend using the funding financial profile to help calculate your household income before you apply for any needs based scholarships, you can find this in My Application, Scholarships and Finding, create my funding financial profile.
  • Any documentation should be converted to English before uploading to the application.
