The African Women’s Development Fund (AWDF) is a grantmaking foundation that supports local,
national and regional women’s organizations working towards the empowerment of African women and the promotion and realization of their rights. By specializing in grantmaking and focused, tailored movement-building programs, we work to strengthen and support the work of African women’s organizations.

AWDF encourages applications for work that is led by and supports the leadership and concerns of women facing multiple discriminations (women with diverse abilities; women living with HIV and AIDS, young women, LBTQ communities, women sex workers, women in the rural areas and marginalized women in urban areas.
