Scholarships at Dalarna University.

Every year, Dalarna University awards partial scholarships to a number of its new international Master’s students who have proven themselves to be outstanding in their educational endeavors.

Program Period

One or two years.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Scholarship only available for studying a Master’s degree program which is offered on campus.
  • Completed bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent degree. It is also possible to apply if you are currently completing the final year of studies leading to such a degree.

General requirements for master programs but you have to check specific requirements for your chosen program:

  • Documented proof of English language proficiency: The most common tests and important scores that are accepted are:
    • IELTS (academic): 6.5 (with no part of the test below 5.5).
    • TOEFL (Internet based): 90 (with a minimum of 20 on the written part).
    • TOEFL (paper based): 575 (with a minimum of 4.5 on the written part).

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

  • Reduction in your tuition fees where it will cover between 10 and 50 percent of your total tuition fees.
  • The amount that you are awarded is automatically deducted in set amounts each semester over the duration of your program.

How to Apply

First Step: 

Apply for a program at Dalarna University. You should create an account on university admission in Sweden website to apply for the study program. click here

Second Step:

You have to consider the following while applying:

  • You have to choose Dalarna University, Autumn 2020, all programs then search.
  • A page will appear containing all available programs for application, you can read the program information on the University website and if you are interested in the program you can add it to your application.
  • At the master’s level, you can apply for up to 4 study programs, and be accepted to a maximum of 30 credit hour per semester.
  • You must rank your choices before submitting your application (Place the program you most wish to study at the top of the list, followed by your next favorite) where programs at Dalarna University as first choice.
  • If you’re offered a place in the first master’s program on your list (your first choice), all other choices will be deleted.
  • If you’re not offered a place in your first choice, you will be reviewed for your second choice, and so on.

Third Step:

You can then fill the scholarship application for semester starting in autumn 2020.

  • A complete scholarship application has four parts:
    • The online scholarship application.
    • A CV.
    • A recommendation letter from an employer or teacher.
    • A video where you explain why you should receive a scholarship.
  • In the video (no more than 60 seconds long), you need to explain why you should be awarded a scholarship from Dalarna University. You will need to upload this video to a website or cloud storage so that it can be viewed by the scholarship committee: include the link to the video in your scholarship application where indicated. So they must be able to view the video using only the link provided.
