In recent years, the idea of conducting anti-poverty field experiments have received increasing attention, especially with the award of the Nobel Prize for Economics this year to Esther Duflo, Abhijit Banerjee and Michael Kremer “for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty”. Instead of large-scale social support and development intervention, such anti-poverty field experiments aimed to help the poor and indebted to save more, live better, enjoy better health outcomes and work their own way out of poverty traps.
PhD programmes at the UNNC are composed of 3 years research and a 1 year thesis pending period for full time PhDs.
