Step One: Register in the DAAD portal:
Start with reading notes about registering in the portal . Then, you can access the DAAD portal by clicking Apply now button down there. you will find an online application form in which you can enter your application data.
Alert: Due to the current pandemic situation, applications can be submitted on application dates that lie in 2020 Without Application Reference.
Step Two: The Online Application Part:
You can read notes on applying in the portal, Then:
first: Download and complete The online application form
second: prepare your application documents and translate it if it’s not in English or German.
third: Scan your paper document and save it in PDF form Only.
forth: Upload the complete application form and the required appendices(Except any work samples you might have to submit) to The Portal-in PDF- translation-if applicable-should be uploaded Together with the document issued in the original language.
fifth: Submit the uploaded application documents online.
Alert: the DAAD portal and the access to it generally opens about 6 weeks before the application deadline at the latest
Step Three: Sending application Document by Post Part:
Send work samples together with the printed “Cover sheet to application” of the “Application summary” generated online by post to the specified application address. Please do not enclose any other documents that have not been uploaded to the portal.
Alert: Your application is only valid if you submit all the required documents to the DAAD portal (Step Two) and by post (Step Three). The postmark date serves as proof that the application has been dispatched on time (Late or incomplete applications cannot be considered. You are responsible for ensuring that your application is complete).
- Applicants from non-EU countries: Please remember to specify the exact contents of your postal consignment in the documents for the customs authorities, e.g. “Application for a scholarship with application documents, a reference and a DVD with work samples (no commercial goods, no merchandise value, no insurable value) “.

Data relating to applicants is saved by the DAAD in accordance with the Federal Data Protection Act and with the EU Data Protection Regulation insofar as this data is needed to process the application. Special DAAD committee made up of professors from German universities makes the final decision and it usually starts from 1st October, or earlier if a language course is taken before the study program
