Talent Grant – Amsterdam University of the Arts
The Talent Grant was established in 2013 and is aimed at providing financial support to excellent students from outside the European Economic Area (EEA), Switzerland, and Suriname who wish to study at the Amsterdam University of the Arts (AHK).

- Amsterdam University of arts is a Dutch vocational university of arts located in Amsterdam.
- When you apply you will need to be assessed by the head of their study program at the AHK before they can apply for this grant. The head of the study program is entitled to set their criteria for what is considered ‘exceptional merit’. The director of each academy will make a ranking of the applications; the ranking will be presented to the Executive Board of the AHK for the final decision.

- For Bachelor: 3 years.
- For Master: 2 years.

- The student or applicant is national from a non-EEA country (excluding the countries Suriname and Switzerland that are not eligible for this grant scheme).
- The student or applicant demonstrates exceptional merit.
- The student will be living full-time in the Netherlands while studying at the AHK.
- The student has to pay the non-state funded, and thus higher, institutional tuition fees.
- The applicant who is not yet enrolled at the AHK must have passed the entrance exam successfully.

Each application will be assessed based on the student’s potential, as well as their financial situation.

- Students from non-EEA countries normally have to pay the institutional tuition fees, which are not subsidized by the government and considerably higher. The Talent Grant 2020 helps non-EEA students cover the difference between the lowest institutional tuition fees and the government-subsidized statutory tuition for one study year.
- AHK has a few different institutional fees rates depending on the study program. The lowest institution fee rate for 2020/2021 is € 5.200. Please contact the academy’s student adviser for details.

First Step:
Students from outside of the European Union need a residence permit and sometimes also an entry visa to study in the Netherlands. go to the visa page to see whether you need a visa to study in the Netherlands, and what you must do to obtain one.
Second Step:
To enroll at the AHK you have to create an account in Studielink. You will need Studielink for the duration of your studies in the Netherlands, so please make sure to keep your username and password safe.
Third Step:
Use the Studielink account to enroll in your course at the AHK. Enroll for a study program at the AHK in Studielink, here is more information about the enrollment at the AHK.
Fourth step:
You need to submit your full payment to the AHK before 1 September. If you haven’t made payment arrangements by that date, you will not be enrolled by 1 September and will not be able to study at the AHK.
Fifth step:
You will receive your log-in details for MyAHK on the email address that is connected to your Studielink account. From this point onwards, all communication will go through your AHK email address. You will find your email, calendar, the intranet, and important news about your course and the AHK on MyAHK. You can also find your grades, schedules, and Blackboard here.
