The Robert and Maude Gledden Senior Visiting Fellowships

The Gledden Visiting Fellowships are part of the estate bequeathed to the University by the late Robert John Gledden to promote and encourage education and research at the university in the disciplines of applied science, more particularly relating to surveying, engineering, mining or cognate subjects.

More Details

Senior Visiting Fellowships are offered annually. Applications normally open in January or February, and close in August of the year preceding the proposed visit. Applications are assessed by the Gledden Visiting Fellowships Committee and applicants will be notified by the end of September in the year preceding the proposed visit. Applications that do not relate to the fields of surveying, engineering, mining or cognate subjects will not be considered. Applications must be lodged by a UWA-based researcher.

  • The period of tenure of a fellowship is a minimum of fourteen days and a maximum of ninety days.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • The Senior Visiting Fellowships are open to researchers who have doctoral degrees or equivalent qualifications or experience, and who are mid-career or senior researchers.

Opportunity Cost

(Fully Funded)

  • Senior Visiting Fellowships provide a round trip economy airfare.
  • Approximately AUD$1500 per week inclusive of accommodation and a modest living allowance for up to a maximum of 90 days.
  • Funding is not provided for accompanying family.
