International Undergraduate Scholarships – University of East Anglia .

These scholarships are designed to reward applicants who have been offered a place to study with UEA and who can clearly and concisely explain how studying there at UEA will help them to make an outstanding contribution to their chosen field of study as well as the wider UEA community.

The University of East Anglia (UEA) has been ranked 15th by The Times Good University Guide 2019 and The Complete University Guide 2019, as well as in the World Top 200 by The Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2019.

It is an internationally renowned university based in a campus that provides top quality academic, social and cultural facilities to over 15,000 students.

The campus is located in 320 acres of rolling parkland just two miles from the centre of Norwich, the cathedral city, and England’s first UNESCO City of Literature. This uniquely-placed University is also a leading member of Norwich Research Park, one of Europe’s biggest concentrations of researchers in the fields of environment, health and plant science.

Sporting facilities on campus include the University Sportspark which houses an Olympic-sized swimming pool and regularly hosts international sporting events. UEA also has the world famous Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts and hosts an International Literary Festival which has included famous names such as Ian McEwan, Kazuo Ishiguro and Anne Enright (all alumni of UEA’s Creative Writing course)

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

When applying for this scholarship:

  • You must alresdy be in possession of conditional or un conditional offer the first year of an undergraduated degree course starting at UEA in September 2019.
  • Your offer should state that you are an international fee-paying student.
  • To be classified as an international fee-paying student you typically need to be a non-EU resident.fees and funding page has more details of who will pay international tuition fees. If you are still in doubt, then please email our planning office who can advise you further.
  • You will also need to be independently funding your studies, which means that you can’t apply if an organisation is sponsoring your study and paying your tuition fees for you. However, if you will be in receipt of a government loan, you can still apply for this scholarship.
  • Students who are currently studying a Foundation course in the UK are not eligible to apply for this scholarship but can apply for UEA’s International Foundation Scholarships.

Please note, that offer holders for courses in the Faculty of Medicine and Health are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

All applicants to the scholarship will receive a minimum of a £2,000 first year tuition fee discount, whilst a large number of successful applicants will be upgraded to fee discounts of £4,000, £6,000 or £10,000 per year of study.
