The university strives to attract the best student calibers who maintain scientific, ethical, athletic, and educational excellence, to set an example and shape leaders for society in the future. Thereby, the university incorporates the best calibers of academic faculty members – Egyptian and Japanese – as well as members of the administrative staff. To this end, the university offers a set of grants to encourage and attract exceptional calibers that deserve to be affiliated with the Egypt-Japan University of Science and Technology.
Academic Achievement Scholarship:
Academic achievement means academic excellence based on studies during the secondary level.
Total student score in the Egyptian General Secondary Certificate – Thanawaya Ama- (not equivalent certificates) + the university entrance exam scores. This average should not be less than 90%.
1- Achievement Scholarships for Governorates:
The highest two students in the average score of both the General Secondary Certificate and the university entrance examination, from each of the Egyptian governorates, are awarded a scholarship equivalent to the exemption of 75% of the tuition fees (not including accommodation and food). In the absence of students from one governorate, the scholarship will be carried over to another governorate according to the order starting from governorates of Upper Egypt.
In addition, the university offers five other achievement scholarships for students from the New Valley and North Sinai governorates.
2- Achievement Scholarships:
Outstanding students are granted reductions in tuition fees (not including accommodation and food) according to the average score of both the General Secondary Certificate and the university entrance examination as follows:
40% reduction in tuition fees for students with a total of 95% or more
30% reduction in tuition fees for students with a total of 90 – 95%
20% reduction in tuition fees for students with a total score of 85 – 90%
3- STEM School Scholarships:
STEM school graduates get 40% reduction in tuition fees (not including accommodation and food)
Borg El-Arab STEM school graduates get 50% reduction in tuition fees (not including accommodation and food).
4- Enrolled students at the university who do not hold any form of scholarship:
They receive a scholarship of 20% reduction in tuition fees (not including accommodation and food) for the academic year if they receive a 3.5 GPA in the previous academic year (a general and not cumulative average).
Note: Applicants must be able to read, write and communicate efficiently in English.
Note: For Engineering University and International Business: Egyptian applicants must have completed a secondary school education and hold a valid THANAWYA AMMA certificate- Mathematics, or approved equivalent certificate (e.g. IGCSE, American Diploma, etc..).
Note: Applicant’s age must not exceed 21 years as of September 1, 2020. Male applicants have to provide their military service status.
Note: Applicants from other countries must have an equivalent secondary school certificate approved by the Supreme Council of Universities of Egypt (SCU).
Note: Foreign certificate holders should have completed at least 12 years of schooling or completed 3 years of secondary school after the Egyptian Preparatory school certificate (Eidadiya) or completed 6 years of secondary school and preparatory school after the Egyptian Primary school certificate as per the rules and regulation of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education.
Note: Accepted students’ holder of foreign certificates must pass the Arabic and Religion exams of Thanawya Amma before or after the final acceptance in the university.
Note: Accepted students’ holder of foreign certificates from other countries must provide a residency from the country of their current residence.
Note: The scholarship provides reduction of the tuition fees according to the type of scholarship.
Note: The scholarship does not cover accommodation and food.
