Rolex will offer five Rolex Awards for Enterprise. Part of Rolex’s Perpetual Planet initiative, the Awards support individuals seeking solutions to humankind’s most pressing challenges. The Awards are open to anyone 18 and over, whose pioneering project expands knowledge of our world and improves the quality of life on the planet. it is held each 2 years and sponsored by Rolex SA.

EGYPT, SYRIA, IRAQ, PALESTINE, JORDAN, LEBANON, TUNISIA, ALGERIA, MOROCCO, SUDAN, LIBYA, SAUDI ARABIA, EMIRATES, KUWAIT, QATAR, BAHRAIN, OMAN, YEMEN, SOMALIA, DJIBOUTI, MAURITANIA, TURKEY, IRAN, CYPRUS, COMOROS, & OTHER COUNTRIES ARE NOT FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA.

Program Period

The candidates will be notified prior to 1 June, 2021 of their application status. 

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • The Rolex Awards identify and invest in exceptional people around the world who are carrying out pioneering projects.
  • The 2021 Rolex Awards for Enterprise are open to all candidates over 18.
  • An application may be submitted only be an individual.
  • No institutional or collective applications are allowed
  • If a proposal represents the efforts of several individuals, one person must represent the group and complete the application form.
  • Should such a group effort be chosen, the Rolex Award will be presented to the individual representative. Rolex SA will have no obligation to any other member of the group.
  • If an application is working within an institution, the full amount of the award will go to the applicant only. No administrative fees may be deducted by the institution, nor will Rolex SA pay any fee to the institution.
  • Only one application per person is allowed.
  • Application may not be submitted by Rolex employees, Rolex agents and their employees, employees of advertising, public relations and any other agencies acting for Rolex, members of the immediate families of any of the above, any other person closely connected with Rolex.
  • Former Rolex Awards Jury Members, Laureates, Associate Laureates and young  Laureates are also excluded.
  • Rolex Laureates are of all nationalities and backgrounds. They are united by a talent for independent thinking and the capacity to embrace projects that require creativity and determination.
  • The 2021 Rolex Awards for Enterprise do not provide scholarships for academic studies.

Opportunity Cost

  • Laureates receive a cash grant of 200,000 Swiss francs to advance their projects.
  • Winners receive access to its network of 150 Laureates, international publicity through media coverage.
  • Receive a Rolex chronometer.

Step Three: Upload your CV and Research Proposal for your project, full details.

  • The application must be completed in English.
  • The candidate should be the person who plays a leading role in the project or the organization.
  • Candidates may submit additional material, which may be in languages other than English.
  • No supplementary information will be accepted after receipt of the application, except if specifically requested.
  • No application materials will be returned to the applications after the application period is over.
