The Niels Bohr Institute, Faculty of Science at University of Copenhagen is offering a PhD fellowship in experimental neutrino physics commencing 1 December 2020. The position is to work on the IceCube Neutrino Observatory.
The candidate will be located at the Niels Bohr Institute, with the possibility of short stays abroad to foster enhanced research ties with international collaborators; most likely in N. America and/or N. Europe.
The successful applicant will be involved with data analysis from IceCube-DeepCore focusing on atmospheric neutrino oscillation physics. The local group is invested in making precision measurements of tau neutrino appearance, mitigating systematic uncertainties, and developing the related analysis and experimental techniques for analyzing data from the IceCube Upgrade. A background in experimental analysis techniques and computer coding are recommended.
