Curtin University is offering a scholarship to study in Australia for a Postgraduate degree in Business and Law.

Curtin University is an Australian public research university based in Bentley and Perth, Western Australia.

The aim of the scholarship is to encourage and support academically talented students to commence the MBA (Global) at Curtin University.

The Master of Business Administration (Global) is an early-career MBA program, designed to build on your undergraduate degree and launch your global business career. This two year course focuses on core business knowledge and inter-cultural communication, ensuring your skills can be applied within an international business context. You can take the MBA (Global) at Curtin Business School (CBS) directly after completing a bachelor degree in any discipline.

Program Period

Up to a maximum of 2 years.

This scholarship will provide the support for the expected duration of the MBA (Global) for up to a maximum of 2 years (based on a full-time load of 100 credits per semester).

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • You must receive an offer of place into the MBA (Global) in 2019, with the university application requirements being the following:
    • A bachelor degree (or equivalent), there’s no work experience required. If you possess a significant amount of work experience at a recognisable level of managerial/supervisory responsibility, you will be encouraged to apply for the Curtin Graduate School of Business MBA. This program is designed to build on your undergraduate degree and help launch your global business career.
    • Admission is competitive, and requires a course weighted average of at least 60%.
    • Curtin requires all applicants to demonstrate proficiency in English. For example, by taking a recognized English proficiency test. Required scores are: an overall score of 6.5 with 6.0 in every subtest for the IELTS test or an equivalent score in other tests. Click here to check.
  • You must have completed an undergraduate degree with distinction or equivalent.
  • Not to be in receipt of any other Curtin funded scholarships.
  • Not to be in receipt of any other sponsorship.
  • Deferral of this scholarship is not permitted.
  • Please note:
    • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit.
    • Scholarship will commence from first trimester of study.
    • Scholarship is not transferable to another major, course or university.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

  • 30% of the student tuition fees of the MBA (Global) each semester.

The fee component of the scholarship will be paid directly to the student fee account in two installments per year to be paid prior to the census date relevant to each enrolled semester.

First Step: Applying to the University:

If you would like to apply directly to Curtin University, please follow the steps outlined below. Curtin University also has registered agents around the world who can help with your application:

  • Click on “Apply Now” from the MBA (Global) course page to start your application process.
  • Fill the Application form and upload your supporting documents:
    • A copy of your passport. This must be a copy of the original document or a certified copy from a registered agent of Curtin University.
    • If you have any work experience, you need to upload your Curriculum Vitae (CV) or Resume so that it clearly shows the positions you have held, each organisation’s name, period of work and the total number of months your overall work experience equates to.
    • Colour scanned copies of your full set of academics documents using the following Scanned documents requirements and guidelines. This may include transcripts, award certificate(s) and/or any other official record(s) of results. If you have completed your course and your transcript does not clearly show course completion, you will need a copy of your award certificate which states course completion. Official certified English translations are required. Certified copies of academic documents from a registered agent of Curtin University are acceptable. The University reserves the right to require the applicant to produce original documents on request.
    • English test results.
  • As part of the Simplified Streamlined Visa Framework (SSVF), you may be required to provide additional information in order for the university to perform Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) assessments as part of your application. To find out more information about SSVF, GTE or student visas or Student visa (subclass 500), please refer to the  Department of Home Affairs website.

Second Step:  Applying to the scholarship:

All qualifying applications from applicants for the MBA (Global) at Curtin University will be automatically assessed for the MBA Global Scholarship. No separate scholarship application is required.

Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:

  • Responses to questions in the MBA (Global) application form
  • Academic merit
  • Documentary evidence attached to the MBA (Global) application
  • An interview conducted by the Director, MBA (Global) Programs

Curtin Graduate School of Business will assess each application accordingly and issue a separate Scholarship Offer Letter, along with the Letter of Offer to the MBA (Global) Course, to confirm whether the applicant has been awarded a scholarship.
