INSPO (International Science Project Olympiad).

INSPO (International Science Project Olympiad) is a science Olympiad organized by BARGEM of Okyanus Colleges (Science and Tech Research and Development Department) for high school students from Turkey and across the world.

The Olympiad held nationally since 2007 have begun to welcome the international projects since 2014. INSPO encourages the young brains to make their ideas come true and promotes the global understanding of environmental issues.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • INSPO is open both to Turkish and internation­al students attending classes in grades 9 through 12.
  • A project can qualify for INSPO in two ways:
    • Direct Qualification from Regional, or National Science Fairs:A limited number of projects will directly qualify from Regional, or National Science Fairs. Those projects will be judged by the fair organizations and qualify for INSPO. While all applications are subject to pre-elimination process, those projects will forgo such screening by INSPO’s Scientific Review Committee. The invitation letters for selected students will be sent to the fair direc­tors. The fair directors will present these awards to the winners.
    • Individual Applications: Individual projects that are not recognized thorough fair organizations may also apply for INSPO. If possible, those projects are expected to compete in a regional, or national science fairs prior to INSPO. INSPO Scientific Review Committee will evaluate the projects and notify the students of their eligibility to participate in.
  • The student should be under nineteen years of age as of April 1 in the year of participation.
  • A student, or group of students, cannot present more than one project each year.
  • The project should be done in the last 12 months before participating in INSPO.
  • The same project cannot be re-entered unless it is a continuation to the project or changes have been made to it.
  • Team projects.

  • Second Place: TL 2500
  • Third Place: TL 2000
  • Fourth Place: TL 1000

How to Apply

Application rules:
  • Project teams are to be comprised of one supervisor and a maximum of two students.
  • A supervisor may supervise more than one team.
  • A student can present and apply with only one project.
  • The same school may present more than one project.
  • The projects applications must not miss the deadline.
  • All the students, at the age range of 14-18, must attend INSPO olympiads with an adult supervisor for international category (a teacher or a parent)
  • National and international projects will be assessed within their own categories.
  • Only online applications to be submitted through the link on the homepage will be accepted.
  • A group of judges composed of university academicians who are experts within the field will evaluate the projects.
  • The organization of project fair and exhibition (venue, boards, desks etc.) will be held by Okyanus Colleges.
  • Participation Fee is 300 Euro per person for INSPO finalists.
