Deraya University scholarship

Deraya University is delighted to announce its scholarships. Students who qualify can apply to the Faculty of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Physiotherapy. Deraya was created in 2010 through Presidential decree number 91. It is supervised and regulated by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education. Governmental oversight is provided through the Council of Private Universities which is chaired by the minister.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Sons of armed forces officers and Police officers deceased in the line of duty in recognition of their sacrifice for Egypt are eligible.
  • Egyptian students who are financially incapable of paying tuition fees are eligible.
  • Applicant should be a graduate of a governmental Egyptian secondary school with a minimum score of 90%.
  • Applicant should pass the University English Exam.
  • If the number of qualified applicants exceeds the number of scholarships, priority will be given to students with higher Thanaweya Amma score.
  • To continue to benefit from the scholarship successful applicant should obtain an average grade of at least “Good” starting from the following year. Also applicant should participate in community service activities which supported by the University.
  • Applications will be carefully checked by the University to ensure that the applicants have submitted the correct data.
  • In case of applying any incorrect documents the scholarship will be cancelled by the University administration.
  • The applicant have to submit an endorsement that he will not apply to other universities scholarship. And in case of doing that this, application will be discarded.
  • Required documents:
    1. Original certificate of Thanaweya Amma.
    2. Original Birth Certificate.
    3. A valid National ID for both parents.
    4. Death certificate, if one of the parents is passed away.
    5. For deceased Armed forces and police officer’s sons, providing proof of circumstances.
    6. For  students with financial difficulty:
      • Income certificate for the whole family.
      • Salary details for both parents whether they work in public or private sector with job title.
      • Insurance Number for both parents (if existing) from Insurance Authority.
      • Utilities receipt (electricity, natural gas or water).
      • A declaration by the student that he/she has not applied for any private or civil (Ahleya) University inside or outside Egypt.
      • An agreement to the visit of Social care team to the applicant family at their own house to complete the social research.
    7. Six (6) personal photos.
    8. Male recruitment form, born in 1998 and earlier (Form 2 gond + 6 gond), born in 1999 and beyond (Form 2 gond).
    9. A copy of the housing contract, whether renting or ownership.
    10. A certificate of the absence of agricultural tenure / and the non-ownership of real estate built or leased.
    11. The birth certificate of the children and proof of their enrollment in the different stages of education.
