KURITA Scholarships – Asian Institute of Technology (AIT)

The Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) manages a number of Master’s level scholarships provided by the Royal Thai Government (RTG) to qualified candidates with excellent academic qualifications.

Kurita Water and Environment Foundation (KWEF) is a Public Interest Incorporated Foundation under the Japanese Law. KWEF was established on 12 March 1997 aiming to contribute to the development of new technologies of water conservation and environmental protection. KWEF has approved with its research grant program to support academic researchers.

  • Water Engineering and Management (WEM ), School of Engineering and Technology (SET).
  • Environmental Engineering and Management (EEM ), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD).
  • Natural Resources Management (NRM  ), School of Environment, Resources and Development (SERD).

SYRIA, IRAQ, PALESTINE, JORDAN, LEBANON, SAUDI ARABIA, EMIRATES, KUWAIT, QATAR, BAHRAIN, OMAN, YEMEN, TURKEY, IRAN & OTHER COUNTRIES ARE NOT FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Nationalities: All Asian Countries.
  • Applicant with physical impediment is encouraged to apply.
  • Applicant must fulfill the AIT Entry Requirements.
  • Four years of undergraduate degree or equivalent.
  • English Proficiency Requirement: TOEFL (Computer-based: 210 or iTOEFL: 76) or IELTS: 6 (writing and overall) or AIT-EET Score score of 6 or equivalent.

Opportunity Cost

(Fully Funded)

  • Kurita Scholarship covers the tuition and registration fees, bursary and accommodation allowances, medical insurance, visa renewal fee, research grant, and round-trip air ticket fare from home country.
  • In addition, the selected candidates may have an opportunity to join a short-term internship at Kurita Water Industries Ltd., Japan during their study at AIT.

Second Step: During with the online application, you will be required to submit the following documents:

  • Degree Certificate and Transcript of Undergraduate Degree.
  • English Proficiency Requirement.
  • Two Letters of Recommendation.
  • Detailed resume.
  • Essay to define your purpose in studying at AIT and describe how your career objectives would be enhanced by pursuing graduate studies at AIT. You may also use this portion to supply additional information which you believe is necessary to support your application.
  • If you have not been employed since you left university, please describe your professional activities during this period.
  • Please list titles of publications, major papers, or theses of which you are author or coauthor, if any. If published, give citation.
  • Please list scholarships, prizes, honors, awards and other recognitions, if any.
  • Please list membership in honor societies and professional organizations, if any.
