Lisa Ellen Goldberg Fellowship supports rising, visionary leaders in public service who seek careers in public service or philanthropy. The program awards a full tuition scholarship.

More Details

The Lisa Ellen Goldberg Fellowship provides a full tuition scholarship and is open to students admitted for full-time study in Master of Public Administration or Master of Urban Planning degree programs. In addition to financial support, Goldberg Fellows receive an NYU faculty mentor and also get the opportunity to access an unparalleled network of philanthropists, policymakers, academics, and leaders.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Far-reaching and nuanced intellectual curiosity.
  • Passion for learning and problem-solving.
  • Playful imagination and enthusiasm for new ways of approaching old problems.
  • Thoughtful and articulate communication, both verbal and written.
  • Interest in people, their stories, and their experiences.
  • Steadfast dedication and emotional maturity.
  • Demonstrated success in a first career.
  • Love of culture and the arts.
  • Due to constraints relevant to US immigration regulations, applicants who will need an F-1 or J-1 student visa are not eligible to apply to certificate programs or pursue non-degree coursework.

  • Essay: Describe your reasons, as they relate to your profession, for attending NYU Wagner and pursuing a particular certificate course of study or completing one or more courses on a non-degree basis.
  • Must submit a one-minute video essay.

Academic and professional honors, honorary societies, leadership and service awards.

  • Uploaded files must be scanned copies of transcript(s) received from the college/university registrar OR electronic transcripts.
    Transcripts must include your full legal name and the name of the college or university attended and Transcripts must show all courses taken, all credits earned, and all grades received.
