Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

To be considered for this scholarship:

  • You must select ‘Mica and Ahmet Ertegun Postgraduate Scholarships in the Humanities’ in the University of Oxford scholarships section
  • You must attach the Ertegun supporting statement to your Oxford graduate application
  • You must ensure you meet the criteria for entry to your course, including English language requirements.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

The Scholarship covers:

  • 100% of courses fees.
  • A grant for living costs (the rate for 2019-20 was approximately £15,009).
  • Exclusive use of Ertegun House.


  • All applicants must pay the £75 application fee.
  • The Scholarship does not cover the travel expenses.

How to Apply

First Step: Create an account from here.

Second Step: Choose your course.

Third Step: Fill in the application.

* You have to choose  ‘Mica and Ahmet Ertegun Graduate Scholarships in the Humanities’ in the Funding Section of the University’s Graduate Application Form.

Fourth Step: Upload the following documents:

  • Supporting Statement (you have to complete it and upload it as a pdf document together with your Graduate Application).
  • CV/ Resume.
  • Transcript.
  • Research Proposal.
  • Written work 1 (You are required to submit material that is entirely your own original work).
  • Written work 2.
  • English proficiency test.

Fifth Step: Pay the application fees.

Sixth Step: Submit your application.
