MOC Scholarship of Master Program in International Law and Chinese Law(Wuhan University year 2018)

 Since September 2015, Wuhan University has undertaken the master program in International Law and Chinese Law. Over 60 students have been admitted in this major.

This program is designed for non-Chinese citizens. In 2018, they have planned to enroll up to 30 students in their master program, for Intentional Law and Chinese Law major. As for the positive effects and good results brought by this program in strengthening economic ties and friendship between China and the recipient countries.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

1- Non-Chinese nationality.

2- In good health.

3- Should be under 35 years old.

4-  Have a bachelor’s degree.

5- Applicants should come from developing countries.

6- Should be government officials at middle or senior level, or researchers or administrators of academic institutions at middle or senior level.

How to Apply

First Step: Application Online:

(1) Register and apply online in CSC at http://laihua.csc.edu.cn Choose type B of scholarship program in the CSC system. Wuhan university code is 10486. Submit online the completed.

(2) At the same time register and apply online in Wuhan University at http://admission.whu.edu.cn/ then submit online the completed.

(3) Download and print the two completed application forms then signed after print..

(4) Application forms should be pasted with required photo after print.

(5) For the Master program, Discipline is “International Law”.

Second Step: Materials Required:

(1) Application form for Chinese Government Scholarship.

(2) Application Form for International Scholars and Students of Wuhan University.

(3) Recommendation letter by a superior in the institution where the applicant works.

(4) Recommendation letters by a professor who knows the applicant research abilities well.

(5) An original copy and a photocopy need to be prepared for each degree.

(6) Transcripts must list all courses taken and all scores obtained.

(7) CV.

(8) Personal statement must be written in English and be some 1000 words in length. It shall cover such essential elements as applicant’s academic background, work experience, achievements.

(9) Future research plan can be written in Chinese or English. It shall entail the applicant’s study and research goals.

(10) Personal passport.

(11) Applicants who are not native English speakers or whose undergraduate education was not conducted in English shall provide TOEFL or IELTS test scores. TOEFL requires 80, IELTS requires 5.5. For those who could not offer the above mentioned standard English test results, additional oral or written English test organized by Wuhan University will be required to participate in.

(12) Two recent, 2-inch, white photos.

(13)The health form shall be issued within one month before the submission of application, showing that the applicant carries no infectious diseases which may have a serious impact on public health.

Third Step: Submission:

(1) Submit all the application materials in both hard copy and scanned copy to the Economic and Commercial Counselor Office of Chinese Embassy. For emails and addresses of the Economic and Commercial Counselor Offices, please visit http://www.china-aibo.cn.

(2) Submit a written request to the Economic and Commercial Counselor Office of Chinese Embassy for an official recommendation letter and clearly state:

  • Whether the applicant is willing to be considered for a similar program at other universities if the program at WHU are already full.
  • Other special requests if any.
