Description

BU Bioinformatics Program Merit Scholarships

Tuition assistance is available to master’s students in the form of Merit Scholarships, which provide partial tuition to full-time MS students. These scholarships are awarded at the time of admission and do not require a separate application.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • MS candidates must demonstrate mastery of the core subject matter (no lower than a “B” in core courses) to fulfill their degree requirements.
  • Fulfillment of core course equivalents will be determined based on documented previous academic and/or work experience. If an alternate course has been accepted as a core equivalent, the academic advisor will recommend a courses to fulfill the requirements. To know more about those core courses content, click here.
  • Any well-qualified person with a four-year bachelor’s degree from a recognized college or university or with equivalent international education may apply for admission to the Graduate School of Arts & Sciences (GRS). Applicants who have a three-year bachelor’s degree earned in First Division from an institution accredited by India’s National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with a grade of “A” or better may also apply.
  • Applicants who have studied outside of the United States and Canada are required to upload unofficial international transcript(s) and certified translation(s) for all institutions attended. Please combine your transcript, certified translation, etc. for each institution into one document and then upload it.
  • Proof of English proficiency is required of all applicants by submitting official results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Testing System (IELTS). to know more about those exams( scores, submission deadline,…) click here.
  •  International applicants are encouraged to submit their application as early as possible to allow sufficient time to apply for a U.S. visa in their home country.

Applicants are considered for a merit scholarship at the time of the application being reviewed. Amounts vary. If an applicants is awarded a scholarship, the amount is taken off of the tuition.

  • Transcripts.
  • Three recommendations.
  • Personal statement/statement of purpose.
  • Resume/CV.
  • Score from Test of English as a Foreign Language.
