Established by the University Council in 2011, the Alan Musgrave Master’s Scholarship in Philosophy provides support for the high calibre international students to study towards a Master’s degree in Philosophy at the University of Otago. the scholarship is offer to one candidate according to his Academic record and potential for graduate research.

Program Period

The tenure of the scholarship is for two years in the case of a BA (Hons) plus Master’s thesis, or one year in the case of a Master’s thesis.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • An international student who do not qualify for domestic tuition fee rates.
  • Intending to enroll full-time in the year following selection, either in a one year BA (Hons) in Philosophy followed by a Master’s degree by thesis in Philosophy, or in a Master’s degree by thesis in Philosophy.
  • Have the equivalent of a BA in Philosophy.
  • Demonstrate an appropriate standard of English (IELTS: Score of 6.5 in the academic module with no individual band below 6.0, Internet-based TOEFL: Score of 95 with a minimum writing score of 22)و and you can check the rest eligible tests and scores from this link.

  • Tuition fee waiver plus NZ $15,000 stipend per annul.
