International Erasmus+ Master of Science in Sustainable and Innovative Natural Resource Management (SINReM)

The SINReM master programme is embedded in the International Training Centre of the Faculty of Bioscience Engineering of Ghent University and the EIT Raw Materials Academy.

First year:

Students are taken through the value chain of raw materials, and introduced to the sustainability challenges of the circular economy.

Second year:

The students can choose between three majors in their second year. At Ghent University (Belgium) the student gains a deep understanding of resource recovery from waste streams, sustainable materials and sustainable technologies. At Uppsala University (Sweden) the student chooses to increase their skills and knowledge in novel georesource exploration technologies. At TU Freiberg students receive profound insights in sustainable chemical and biotechnological processes in mining.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • A bachelor degree (minimum 180 ECTS) in science or engineering with a combined 15 ECTS in mathematics and/or physics and 10 ECTS in chemistry, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised University or Engineering College.
  • Diploma suitability is considered during the application process and subject to approval of the SINReM selection committee.
  • The SINReM master programme is particularly suited for (but not limited to) : Chemical Engineers, Environmental Scientists and Engineers, Mining engineers, Geologists, Mineral & Materials scientists, Bioscience Engineers, Biotechnology students & other engineers and natural scientists.
  • Academic admission (and Letter of Admission) is given by the SINReM Selection Committee on 15th March 2020, based upon the strength of the academic profile and motivation. The full application procedure needs to be completed in order to be granted admission by the SINReM Selection Committee.
  • English language test with minimum requirements below:
    • TOEFL IBT 86
    • TOEFL PBT 570
    • ACADEMIC IELTS 6,5 overall score with a min. of 6 for writing.

The EMJMD scholarship is a full scholarship that covers

1- Tuition fee.

2- Monthly allowance 1000 EUR/month. for housing and general subsistence (food & leisure).

3- A travel allowance up to 3000 EUR/year.

4- An installation contribution of 1000 EUR, one time.
