2019 – MBA International Student Scholarship – Curtin University
Curtin University is offering a scholarship to study in Australia for a Postgraduate degree in Business and Law. The Curtin Graduate School of Business (CGSB) MBA is an internationally recognised qualification, aimed primarily at middle and senior managers looking to enhance their careers and contribution to their organisation. It introduces students to contemporary Australian and global business ideas, concepts and perspectives and connects them to hands-on business practice and project work.

The MBA International Student Scholarship has been developed by Curtin Graduate School of Business to encourage and support students who have chosen to study the Master of Business Administration (MBA) as full-time students at Curtin Graduate School of Business (CGSB).

Program Period

Up to a maximum of 1.5 years.

The MBA International Student Scholarship will provide support for the expected duration of the MBA(CGSB) for up to a maximum of 1.5 years (based on a full-time study load of 75 credits each trimester).

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • You must be an International student.
  • You must be a commencing student in 2019.
  • You must receive an offer of place into the MBA(CGSB) in 2019, with the university application requirements being the following:
    • A bachelor degree or equivalent awarded by a recognised tertiary institution, or the university’s Graduate Certificate in Business, plus at least three years’ relevant work experience. Check whether your overseas qualification satisfies the admission requirements. High performing applicants without an appropriate academic background may be admitted and required to complete bridging or special course units. This may extend the course duration.
    • You will be required to submit supplementary information with your application, including your curriculum vitae (CV) and referee report.
    • Curtin requires all applicants to demonstrate proficiency in English, for example by taking an English proficiency test; score requirement for IELTS test is 6.5 overall band score with no subtest less than 6, to know equivalent scores on other tests, click here.   • Note: Students with more than two failures or more than four units with grades below 60% will be excluded from the course so as to maintain the high standard expected of the MBA qualification.

Please note:

  • Scholarship will be awarded if there are applicants of sufficient merit.
  • Scholarship will commence from first trimester of study.
  • Scholarship is not transferable to another major, course or university.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

  • A total maximum value of $15,000, paid as $1,250 towards the tuition fees of each unit for students completing the 12 units MBA Program.
    Or
  • A total maximum value of $10,000, paid as $1,250 towards the tuition fees of each unit for students who commence the MBA Program after completing a Graduate Certificate in Business and who are required to complete the remaining 8 units of the MBA Program.

First Step: Applying to the University:

If you would like to apply directly to Curtin University, please follow the steps outlined below. Curtin University also has registered agents around the world who can help with your application:

  • Gather your supporting documents:
    • A copy of your passport. This must be a copy of the original document or a certified copy from a registered agent of Curtin University.
    • Prepare your CV/Resume so that it clearly shows your prior work experience and roles that you have held.
    • Colour scanned copies of your full set of academics documents using the following Scanned documents requirements and guidelines. This may include transcripts, award certificate(s) and/or any other official record(s) of results. If you have completed your course and your transcript does not clearly show course completion, you will need a copy of your award certificate which states course completion. Official certified English translations are required. Certified copies of academic documents from a registered agent of Curtin University are acceptable. The University reserves the right to require the applicant to produce original documents on request.
    • English test results.
    • Download and complete the Employer Recommendation and Referee Report.
    • Prepare a statement(maximum of 500 words) that outlines your motivation and reason for undertaking this course.
  • Click on “Apply Now”  to start your application process. Fill the Application form and upload the required documents.
  • As part of the Simplified Streamlined Visa Framework(SSVF), you may be required to provide additional information in order for the university to perform Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE) assessments as part of your application. Second Step:

All qualifying applications from applicants for the MBA at Curtin University will be automatically assessed for the MBA Scholarship. No separate scholarship application is required.

Applications will be assessed by an assessment panel using the following criteria:

  • Responses to questions in the MBA  application form
  • Academic merit
  • Documentary evidence attached to the MBA application
  • An interview conducted by the Director, MBA Programs

Curtin Graduate School of Business will assess each application accordingly and issue a separate Scholarship Offer Letter, along with the Letter of Offer to the MBA  Course, to confirm whether the applicant has been awarded a scholarship.
