- The EMPL equips policy professionals with the knowledge and leadership skills necessary to advance to senior leadership and executive level positions.
- The curriculum is designed with special attention to the Executive Core Qualifications (ECQs) for the Senior Executive Service (SES).
- International students are an integral part of the McCourt and Georgetown University communities.

- Academic excellence
- All applicants to The McCourt School are required to demonstrate a level of proficiency in the English language:
- TOEFL: Score report with a minimum score of approximately 600 (paper-based test) or approximately 100 (internet test). (Minimum of 22 on each individual section.)
- IELTS: Score report with a minimum score of 7.0.
The TOEFL and IELTS scores must be received directly from the testing organization
If the primary language of instruction of your undergraduate or graduate institution is English you do not need to submit a TOEFL/IELTS score.

- Two types of financial assistance are available at Georgetown University: merit-based assistance and need-based assistance.
- All EMPL students are eligible to be considered for merit-based assistance, and no additional application is required.

First Step:
Apply to the Admission office so that you could obtain Admission offer
- Create your account
- Fill your application
- Upload required documents
Second Step:
You will be automatically considered to the Merit-Based scholarships once get admitted.
Awards are based on a candidate’s grades, test scores, professional experience, and overall strength of application. Students are notified by email of award decisions.
Third Step:
After submitting your application. McCourt School of Public Policy best advice is to view your application checklist on the ApplyYourself portal.
Generally, decisions are sent out approximately 6-8 weeks after your application is complete.
You have to submit following documents with the application (You can find a check list for the application from here):
- Resume or CV
- Official transcripts
- Official international transcripts
- 2 Recommendation letters
- Personal statement
- Supplemental Data Form from here
NOTE:
*EMPL applicants do not need to fill out the Supplemental form, but the online application will still require you to upload a blank page. Simply save a document stating your name and “no supplemental form required” and then upload it to the online application where indicated.
- Application fee 90$
NOTE:
*The University also will consider waiver requests based on your personal economic situation.
*To request a waiver, please submit a statement explaining the reason for the request and an updated resume to mccourtadmis[email protected].
