The Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science, and Technology (MEXT) offers opportunities for Bahrain students who are interested in Japanese language and Japanese culture. This scholarship is offered for students who are going to apply for Master and P.H.D. in all fields.
The MEXT will offer 6 months to learn Japanese when the student arrives in Japan and the duration of each scholarship differ from field to another.

Note: Applicants must be to learn Japanese and will receive preparatory education in the Japanese language.

Note: Applicants must be interested in Japan and be willing to deepen their understanding of Japan after arriving in Japan. Applicants must also have the ability to do research and adapt to living in Japan.
Note: You should be aware that the scholarship will be canceled if the student doesn't obtain “Student” visa
Note: Applicant must be from Bahrain.
Note: MEXT will provide an economy-class airline ticket from the grantee's country residence.
Note: Regional allowance of 2,000 yen or 3,000 yen per month will be added to the monthly scholarship amount for the grantees studying or conducting research in specially designated regions.
Note: The amount will be paid according to the course enrolled in Students receiving preparatory education and non-regular students: 143,000 yen per month. Regular students enrolled in master’s or professional degree courses: 144,000 yen per month. Regular students enrolled in doctoral courses: 145,000 yen per month.
Note: Fees for the entrance examination, matriculation and tuition at universities will be paid by MEXT
Note: The grantee shall bear at his/her own expense all costs related to domestic travel from the grantee’s residence to the nearest international airport, airport taxes, airport usage fees, special taxes necessary for travel, travel expenses within Japan (including airline transit costs), travel insurance expenses, carry-on luggage or unaccompanied baggage expenses, etc. The grantee shall also bear at his/her own expense travel and lodging costs incurred in a third country if the grantee must travel to a third country before coming to Japan for visa purposes because there are no Japanese diplomatic missions in his/her country, or if there are no direct flights
Note: The student will pay his/her transportation fees inside Japan
Note: under the MEXT scholarship program, the allowance and plane ticket fare will be covered only for the student who passed the exam and the screening. If you wish to bring your family to Japan, the Japenese government will not pay for his/her visa, allowance, or plane ticket fare.
