Chevening Partner Awards for Law

Queen Mary works closely with the Chevening – the UK government’s international scheme aimed at developing global leaders – to provide a large number of full scholarships for study on our one-year Masters courses.

More Details

Every year Queen Mary hosts a large cohort of the 1500 Chevening Scholars who come to study at universities all over the UK. In addition the standard Chevening Awards, Queen Mary is a Chevening Partner and funds an additional awards for those who are selected by Chevening. The School of Law (including Centre for Commercial Law Studies) is funding an additional 2 awards for 2019 entry.

EGYPT, SYRIA, IRAQ, PALESTINE, JORDAN, LEBANON, TUNISIA, ALGERIA, MOROCCO, SUDAN, LIBYA,  QATAR, BAHRAIN, OMAN, YEMEN, SOMALIA, DJIBOUTI, MAURITANIA, TURKEY, IRAN, COMOROS, & OTHER COUNTRIES ARE NOT FROM THE MIDDLE EAST AND NORTH AFRICA.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • You should provide evidence of English language ability: IELTS, TOEFL, or other acceptable proof.
  • To be eligible for a Partner Award you must rank Queen Mary as your first choice university.
  • You should upload: Degree transcripts, Referee details, Statement of purpose, Curriculum Vitae (CV)/ Resume, English Language certificate.

Opportunity Cost

(Fully Funded)

The scholarship covers:

  • Full tuition fees.
  • Stipend for living costs, air-fares, and a variety of other expenses.

As Chevening Scholarships are fully-funded, your award includes the following:

  • university tuition fees
  • a monthly stipend
  • travel costs to and from the UK
  • an arrival allowance
  • a homeward departure allowance
  • the cost of one visa application
  • a travel grant to attend Chevening events in the UK

How to Apply

First Step: Applicants must apply first for Chevening scholarship (select your “country” and choose scholarship from “select your level” ). You need to upload: Degree transcripts, Referee details, Statement of purpose, Curriculum Vitae (CV)/ Resume, English Language certificate.
