EU Prize for Women Innovators 2019

This is a cash prize awarded every year to European women who founded a successful company and brought an innovation to market.

More Details

  • This award recognises the role of women in bringing about game-changing innovations to market and honours the outstanding achievements of female entrepreneurs running innovative companies.
  • The prize will be awarded to up to 4 women innovators in total
  • Three prizes of EUR 100,000 each and one prize of EUR 50,000 in the ‘rising innovator
  • Applications are judged by a panel of independent experts from across Europe.

    The jury evaluation is planned to take place between January 2019 and May 2019.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • The participant must be a woman.(For the Rising Innovator Award, the contestant must be a woman born as of 1 January 1984).
  • The participant must be an ordinary resident in an EU Member State or a country associated to Horizon 2020. Know these countries from HERE:countries associated to Horizon 2020
  • founded a successful company and brought innovation to market
  • the company provides a cutting edge product or service
  • brings major benefits to citizens and society and the economy
  • he contestant has shown active leadership, her role has influenced the success of the company and has the potential to inspire others
  • The participant must be the founder or co-founder of an existing and active innovative company which was registered before 1 January 2017.
  • cannot receive   the prize for the same activities if you participate past year .

Opportunity Cost

This is a cash prize awarded every year to 4 European women:

3 prizes of €100,000 each

Rising Innovator (35 or younger): €50,000

The award also recognises a number of finalists specially acknowledged for their outstanding record as women entrepreneurs and innovators.

How to Apply

  • You (the contestant) can apply following 6 easy steps via our electronic submission system on the Participant Portal
  • The complete application has three parts:
     Part A collects information about you and your company via a downloadable and editable PDF-form.
    Part B is a downloadable template in rtf-format for your application.
    Annexes – Mandatory documents to be uploaded.
  • Step 1 – Identify yourself:  register< – follow the instructions to create a new EU Login. More help on how to create an EU Login account here.
  • Step 2 – Funding Scheme
  • Step 3 – Creating a draft proposal(Your organisation, Your role:, Your proposal,small abstract of your pitch,You are required to record a short video message (max. 90 seconds,You will be asked to select a subtopic: women innovators” or rising innovators)
  • Step 4 – Parties: you can add here another contact if needed.
  • Step 5 – Edit Proposal

(Administrative Forms,Your application , Mandatory documents:

-Copy of your national ID/passport.
-Proof that you are a (co-)founder of an active company including the date of foundation of the company e.g. a copy of an official form from the national business register with your name listed as (co)-founder.
-Proof of the annual turnover of the company, e.g. balance sheet.
-Copy of your CV.)
