The internship is equivalent to a master-level laboratory project. The undergoing master candidate or a recently graduated master who takes part in this project is planned to acquire experience to the development of a point-of-care assay for follow-up of chronic disease via test of saliva samples.
The case of study is Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), and the goal of the bio-assay to measure biomarker levels indicating early alarm of worsening episodes. The project is financed the Oslofjordfondet foundation in Norway, which has universities and municipalities as parterns.
This project involves cooperation with local hospitals, medical centers and local companies.
