Description

Bird Census Internship.

This position is a learning opportunity to gain valuable knowledge in bird census and thereby contribute to the overall biodiversity census of the oasis Los Molinos de Rio Aguas.

The intern will work closely with Dr. Richard Banham (the coordinator of the project) for professional guidance and to obtain the full educational potential of the experience. If there is interest, the research can be extended to including invertebrates, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, flora, butterflies, dragonflies, damselflies and demoiselles, since the project has now expanded from a full bird census into collecting data to investigate the whole biodiversity of the area.

Program Period

Duration: 2-6 months.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Basic knowledge of common UK/Western European birds.
  • Background in science, preferably in Ecology, Zoology or similar.
  • Familiarity with camera traps.
  • A laptop and digital camera or smartphone.
