Description

PhD student position in Aquatic Biogeochemistry

The successful candidate will work in a project that investigates the links between sediment and methane emission in river systems. Methane emission from inland waters is extremely heterogeneous in time and space, and at present, the magnitude and dynamics of methane emission cannot be confidently predicted at large spatial scales.

Duties: Your duties include to perform research, courses and teaching within the project’s subject area.

More Details

This project aims at integrating landscape-scale drivers of sediment transport and deposition (geomorphology) with biogeochemical and physical knowledge on methane production and emission. The project combines empirical methods (field measurements and lab experiments) with modelling that integrates process understanding. The project is financed by the Swedish Research Council.

Opportunity Focus Areas:

  • Ecology
  • Genetics
  • Biogeochemistry
