University of Copenhagen- Ph.D. fellowship in Medicinal Chemistry

Department of Drug Design and Pharmacology is offering a three-year Ph.D. fellowship in Medicinal Chemistry. The Ph.D. fellowship is financed by The Lundbeck Foundation. The fellowship is available from 15 June 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Job description 
Your key tasks as a PhD fellow at the Faculty are to:
  1. Carry through an independent research project under supervision.
  2. Write scientific articles and the PhD thesis on the grounds of your research project.
  3. Complete PhD courses or other equivalent education corresponding to approx. 30 ECTS points.
  4. Obtain experience with teaching or other types of dissemination related to your PhD project.
  5. Participate in the undergraduate teaching of students in pharmaceutical sciences.
  6. Participate in national and international conferences and scientific meetings.
  7. Stay at an external research institution, preferably abroad.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  2. You must have obtained a Master´s degree in medicinal chemistry, organic chemistry, or related areas prior to the starting date.
  3. You must have documented experience with the synthesis of small molecules
  4. Fluency in English and excellent communication skills
  5. Highly motivated candidate with a documented strong background in organic synthesis and/or medicinal chemistry

  • Depending on seniority, the monthly salary begins around DKK 27,135 (approx. 3,634 EUR) (taxable) plus pension.

NOTE: The PhD student is expected to be affiliated to the graduate programme in pharmaceutical sciences, Drug Research Academy.
