Postdoc Fellowship in Genome integrity and DNA repair _the university of Copenhagen

Department of Biology is offering a postdoc in Genome integrity and DNA repair with focus on the role of the ZGRF1 helicase in DNA repair including its regulation by protein post-translational modifications (PTMs), cellular localization, protein-protein interactions and unique DNA structures that are recognized by the helicase.

If DNA lesions are not repaired properly in a timely fashion, they can lead to mutations, gene deletions, and chromosome loss, which is the underlying cause of both cancer, cellular ageing, and a number of developmental disorders.

The postdoc’s duties will include

  • research to uncover the functional consequences of patient mutations in ZGRF1, characterization of a ZGRF1 mouse model and identification of small molecule inhibitors of ZGRF1
  • as well as opportunity to participate in teaching activities
  • . The post may also include performance of other duties.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • a highly motivated and ambitious candidate with a PhD degree in Biology or similar fields.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is a requirement, as well as excellent writing skills demonstrated by the publication record, as well as good communication skills..

Opportunity Cost

  • Terms of appointment and payment accord to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State
  • The starting salary is currently up to DKK 430.569 including annual supplement (+ pension up to DKK 73.627).

Note: Negotiation for salary supplement is possible.
