The University of Cambridge: Research Assistant (Fixed Term)
Applications are invited for a full-time Research Assistant to work on a longitudinal project investigating auditory and motor processing abilities and language development in infants using EEG and motion capture.

The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Psychology (Centre for Neuroscience in Education) and will be joining a team headed by Professor Usha Goswami (see: http://www.cnebabylab.psychol.cam.ac.uk/).

- The position is available from 1st July 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter.
- The funds for this post are available until 18 December 2020 in the first instance.

- Applicants should ideally have a degree in linguistics, psychology, neuroscience or a related discipline, and will require the use of a car, with Basic DBS check.
- Experience of behavioral testing with infants and toddlers would be an advantage.
- Applicants will require the capacity to work independently within the current team to ensure the smooth running of the testing of the infant cohort (120 infants).
- Applicants will mainly carry out home test visits to collect language data at 15, 18, 24 and 30 months and with data coding.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills are required, and prior experience with linguistic coding in Praat or a related method would be essential.
- Ability to communicate with the children and families participating in the project.
- Experience of working in an EEG lab environment
- Prior experience of working with infants or children and Prior experience of psychoacoustic or controlled linguistic testing.
