Go Green in the City 2019

The Go Green in the City challenge is now entering its 9th year running and Schneider Electric’s 2019 edition is going to be even bigger, better and bolder! Schneider is looking for students like you from around the world who are willing to put their skills and ideas to the test.

Program Period

The competition timeline is as the following:

  • Regional semi-finals: 27 May – 14 June 2019.
  • Mentoring & Regional finals: 19 June – 23 August 2019.
  • Preparation Phase: 29 August – 28 September 2019.
  • Grand Finale: 1-5 October.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Be a Bachelor’s or Master’s student (At least 2nd year).
  • Team members must be studying in the same Regions (two-member teams).
  • At least one team member must be a woman.
  • Be proficient in English (the Grand Finale pitch will be presented in English.)

Opportunity Cost


  • The winning team will win the chance to work with Schneider Electric, and an all-inclusive international trip to two cities of their choice (where Schneider Electric has offices).
  • The Top 8 teams will be invited on a fully sponsored trip to the Schneider Electric Global Innovation Summit in Barcelona to pitch for the Grand Prize & an invitation to interview for Schneider Electric’s Internship Program.
  • Participants will receive mentorship from Schneider Electric experts to polish their proposals and make it to the Grand Finale.
  • One all-female team from the semi-finals will win the Women in Energy Award, securing a place in the finals and cash prize of USD $1,000.

Second Step: You will be asked to complete your profile, then submit your team’s PowerPoint Presentation of 10 slides, including problem statement, differentiation, operational availability, team profile, etc. by Saturday 25 May 2019. No late submissions will be considered.
