New Supercapacitor and Battery Concepts for Large-Scale Energy Storage – University of Newcastle, Australia.

The only way to prevent further global warming or even catastrophic warming is to stop burning fossil fuels. This means that we have to implement a circular (renewable) energy economy as quickly as possible.

More Details

This Ph.D. project focusses on research into new electrochemical energy storage concepts. In specific, we will use a new type of electrolyte to achieve high storage capacity using simple, low-cost redox species, for example, sodium or magnesium.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Have a four year bachelor degree including a research training.
  • Have the degree of Bachelor with Honours Class 1 or Honours Class II.
  • Have other academic or professional qualifications.
  • Have experience in scientific research.

 

Opportunity Cost

(Paid opportunity)

  • $28,092 per annum (2020 rate) indexed annually. For a PhD candidate, the living allowance scholarship is for 3.5 years and the tuition fee scholarship is for four years.
