Two PhD scholarships in Process Modelling of CO2 Conditioning – Liquefaction and Compression

The Department of Chemical and Biochemical Engineering, Center for Energy Resources Engineering (CERE), invites applicants for two PhD positions in the area of process modelling of CO2 conditioning – liquefaction and compression.

The projects will involve process modelling and simulation of CO2 conditioning as part of the full CO2 value chain from capture to storage. You will consider CO2 liquefaction and compression. This is related to CO2 captured from the steel blast furnaces of Arcelor-Mittal in Dunkirk and then conditioned and prepared for transport to the North Sea cluster.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Candidates should have a two-year master’s degree (120 ECTS points) or a similar degree with an academic level equivalent to a two-year master’s degree.
  • A strong background in process engineering, process modelling, process simulation, thermodynamics, mathematical modelling, and computer programming experience is essential.

  • The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.
