Postdoctoral Research Fellow x2 at JKMRC.

Queensland university invites applicants to undertake high quality research and project management in the SMI-JKMRC. In particular, develop expertise around advance process control strategies for mineral processing, model-based control and optimisation, state estimation and soft sensor development.

 there are x2 full-time, 1 year fixed term positions at Academic Level A.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • PhD in a research field relevant to minerals processing and a strong control and automation background.
  • Extensive applied research experience in control, automation and modelling.
  • Experience in the development and application of model-based control strategies, e.g. MPC, in minerals processing.
  • Knowledge in optimisation and statistics.
  • A comprehensive view of the whole mineral processing chain from exploration to metal production.
  • Demonstrated record of publication in relevant research fields.
  • Use of database tools and data analytics packages.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Well-developed engineering mathematical skills.
  • Advanced computer literacy, with knowledge in one or more computer programming language.
  • An ability to establish effect relationships and to represent and promote academic discipline at a university and wider community level, including industry, government and professional bodies.
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, particularly from different disciplines, as well as with administrative and technical staff.
  • Ability to work harmoniously within a team, while maintaining a high individual profile.
  • Good organisational abilities and ability to manage competing priorities.

Opportunity Cost

  • The remuneration package will be in the range $67,452.89 to $90,982.26 p.a.,
  • plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17%
  • (total package will be in the range $79,024 – $106,448 p.a.)
