Postdoc in developmental genetics – University of Copenhagen

The main research interest is molecular and genetic mechanisms of cardiac development and congenital heart disease. and a multidisciplinary approach is used, where combines genetic and genomic investigations of patients, with functional investigations based on embryonic tissues, cell models and zebrafish. the university’s ambition is to perform research on the highest level and publish in high-quality international journals.

More Details

Your project will focus on functional characterization of candidate disease genes identified in patients with congenital heart defects. Preferably, the functional characterization of cardiac developmental genes should be performed using zebrafish and cell models. Consequently, the project will include standard methods for gene targeting in zebrafish (i.e. morpholino and CRISPR-cas9 based gene targeting) and phenotypic characterization of heart defects.

Opportunity Focus Areas:

  • developmental genetics.
  • cell biology.
  • developmental biology.
  • Cellular and Molecular Medicine.
