Earl S. Tupper three-year postdoctoral fellowship
STRI’s most prestigious postdoctoral fellowship is awarded once a year to an outstanding candidate in one of the many research fields practiced at STRI.

Successful candidate will conduct a three-year research program based at a STRI facility, typically in the lab of a staff scientist who serves as host or advisor on the project.

- A yearly stipend of $US 50,400 and a research budget of up to $16,000.

First Step: Go to this site, Select “New to SOLAA? Complete the information to create an account. Once you create your account and provide the information required, you can select the type of appointment.
Second Step: Choose as follows:

- Program Type: “Fellowship”
- Program: “STRI 3-Year Tupper Fellowship”
- Unit of interest: “Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute”
Choose the application and start filling it.
Before filling the application, Candidates must designate a staff member to serve as STRI host/advisor and two additional co-advisors who can review the proposal. Applicants should consult with the STRI scientific staff member who will serve as their main host/advisor before submitting a final application. Staff members are listed at this link.
Third Step: The application include the following sections:

- Refrences
- And required the following documents:
- A detailed research proposal (one page summary + a five-page project description)
- A detailed annual budget. The annual research/travel allowance is not expected to exceed $16,000.00.
- Bibliography: The References Cited is limited to 3 pages.
- A Curriculum Vitae
- Two letters of reference (should not be from your main advisor or proposed co-advisors)
