Oxford-Richards Graduate Scholarship
Three scholarships are available for applicants who are applying for Full-time or part-time Master’s or DPhil degree.

- Selection is based on academic merit, unless specified otherwise.
- Applicants who hold deferred offers to start in 2019-20 are not eligible to be considered for these scholarships.
- Preference will be given to applicants working on interdisciplinary topics.
- The scholarship is only tenable at Wadham College. All eligible applicants will be considered for this scholarship, regardless of which college (if any) you state as your preference on the graduate application form. However, successful applicants will be transferred to Wadham College in order to take up the scholarship.
- There is no separate application process for this scholarship: to be considered, submit your application for graduate study by the relevant January deadline for your course. Selection is expected to take place in April 2019.
- The eligibility criteria will be applied automatically, using the details you provide in the relevant sections of the graduate application form (for example, your country of ordinary residence and your previous education institutions), to determine whether you are eligible.

- The scholarship covers course fees and a grant for living costs of at least £14,777.
- Awards are made for the full duration of your fee liability for the agreed course.

First Step: Choosing your course
- Check if the University offers a course you’re interested in applying to – you can find courses either A-Z or by department.
- Read the entry requirements on the course page to make sure that you have the right qualifications.
Second Step: Unless you are UK citizen and your first language is English, check if you need to book a language test.
Third Step: Start your application by creating an account.
Fourth Step: Decide if you want to indicate a college preference.
You can indicate that you have no preference or, if you do want to give a preference, see college pages for details of how the college system works.
Fifth Step: Check that you have chosen the right course and college and uploaded all the correct documents, then pay the application fee and submit your application.
Note:
– Preference will be given to applicants working on interdisciplinary topics. To check whether the course you are planning to apply for is accepted by Wadham College, please review the relevant Course page.
– You will need to upload supporting documents required for your course. You will also need to pay the £75 application fee to submit your application, unless you are eligible for a fee waiver (see below).
– Scholarship selection normally takes place between late February and June. If you have not heard from us by the dates indicated in the scholarship information, then please assume that you have been unsuccessful. Due to the volume of applications we receive, we are unable to contact unsuccessful applicants individually or provide feedback.
Required documents you should send with your application to DPhil in Atmospheric, Oceanic and Planetary Physics course comprise the following:
- Official transcript(s).
- CV/résumé.
- Research proposal:500 words.
- References/letters of recommendation: Three overall, of which at least two must be academic.
- It is not necessary to provide copies of any papers or research articles in your application.
