Excellence Scholarships offer up to 50% tuition remission for either a single or approved combined* undergraduate degree (excluding the Bond Medical Program) and are awarded to students who demonstrate high academic achievement, leadership skills and community involvement.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

1. Excellence Scholarship:

  • To be considered, applicants must be predicted to achieve a minimum of OP 5, ATAR 91.00 or IB Diploma 33.
  • Demonstrated record of leadership, initiative and service to their School and/or Community.
  • Applicants must also meet the standard entry requirements for their chosen program of study.
  • Please note, this scholarship is only available to international students who are currently completing Year 12 at an Australian High School.

All Excellence Scholars are expected to maintain the level of academic and personal excellence that distinguished them as applicants.

2. Judge John Newton Mooting Scholarships:

Bond University is pleased to offer three part-fee scholarships each year to students who have exceptional advocacy skills and a passion for studying law. Applications are open to students who have previously competed in Bond University’s National High School Mooting Competition and are currently completing Year 12 at an Australian High School.

  • Participated in the Bond University High School Mooting Competition
  • To be considered, applicants must be predicted to achieve a minimum of OP 5, ATAR 91.00 or IB Diploma 33.
  • Currently completing Year 12 at an Australian High School.
  • Demonstrated record of leadership, initiative and service to their School and/or Community.
  • Meet the prerequisites and the admissions entry standards for their chosen undergraduate single or combined degree in Law .

All Judge John Newton Mooting Scholars are expected to maintain the level of academic and personal excellence that distinguished them as applicants.

Applicants will be required to submit the following documents as part of their scholarship application:

  • A School reference;
  • Evidence of your leadership, initiative, and service to your school and/or community, including 2 references; and,
  • A scholarship essay answering the following questions:
    • Describe your tribe (your family, school or community) and how they have influenced/driven you to be the person you are today. (200-250 words)
    • What are your strengths? How will you use these strengths to contribute and enrich the Bond community? (100-200 words)
    • Talk about a problem that you would like to solve in the world today. Why is this important to you and what would you do to fix it? (200-300 words)

Required documents for Judge John Newton Mooting Scholarship:

Applicants will be required to submit the following documents as part of their scholarship application:

  • A School reference;
  • Evidence of your leadership, initiative, and service to your school and/or community, including 2 references;
  • Copies of certificates from the Bond University National High School Mooting Competition; and,
  • Personal statement (max 500 words) – Reflect on your participation in the Bond University High School Mooting Competition, and what you have learnt during that process about yourself, about the law, and about advocacy. You should also reflect generally on your interest in the law and legal advocacy.
