The University of Brescia publishes the Call for Admission to the PhD Courses, XXXIV cycle, AY 2018/2019, with a three-year duration and its administrative headquarters at the University of Brescia offering thirteen scholarships and other advantages in total for applicants having an eligible academic qualification achieved from foreign universities.

  • Scholarships listed in the Call will be assigned according to the order defined in the merit ranking drawn up by the PhD Admission Boards.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

The scholarships, in the annual amount of € 15,343.28, gross of the social security taxes to be paid by the PhD student, are disbursed monthly. The amount of the scholarship can be increased by 50% for research periods abroad authorised by the PhD Board of Professors, for minimum continuous duration of 15 days, and total duration not exceeding 18 months in the three-year period. This increase is applied to all students (both scholarship recipients and non-recipients).

Starting from the second year, each student (scholarship-recipient or non-recipient) will be granted a budget for research activity in Italy and abroad of no less than 10% of the scholarship’s gross annual amount.

How to Apply

First Step: In order to make an online admission application, the candidate must register his/her personal details on the university portal form here and click on “Candidates Online Registration”.

Second Step: Proceed with the login (enter username and password). Go to REGISTRAR’S OFFICE > ADMISSION TEST > COMPETITIVE EXAMINATION REGISTRATION and follow the guided procedure, which includes uploading a compulsory ID photo. (Image formats that the system supports are: (*.bmp) or jpeg (*.jpg) or png (*.png) maximum size 3×4 cm 500 dpi (equivalent to 576×768 pixels). Once the procedure is complete, the candidate must save the receipt in PDF, as proof of registration to be presented at the oral examination, if admitted to the competitive examinations.

Note: PhD scholarships are good for one year and are renewed on condition that the programme scheduled for the previous year has been completed, as verified by the PhD Board of Professors.
