The School of English is pleased to offer a number of one-off scholarships of £5,000, in the form of a partial fee waiver, for taught MA applicants.
- Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply.
- English Language Requirements: The University requires all non-native speakers of English to reach a minimum standard of proficiency in written and spoken English before beginning a postgraduate degree.
IELTS: 7.0 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in each component)PTE Academic: 68 overall with 65 in each subtestCAE/CPE: 185 overall (with a minimum of 169 in each component)TOEFL iBT: 95 overall (with a minimum of 22 in R&S; 21 in W; 20 in L)

You are then taken to an online application form which guides you through the application process. On the application form, you are asked to:
explain your reasons for study/outline your research proposal (for research programmes)
provide details/evidence of your qualifications
provide two academic references
provide other personal information and supporting documentation.
Third Step:
All candidates who have applied for a place on a taught MA programme by Friday the 22nd of March 2019 will be automatically considered for the scholarship, regardless of their fee status, nationality or domicile.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview and successful candidates will be informed by email with the funds being made available in the form of a partial fee waiver at the beginning of their studies.
