SECCLO-Master’s programme in security and cloud computing

SECCLO is an Erasmus Mundus double degree programme in the field of Computer Science, more specifically, Security and Cloud Computing.

The studies offer both practical engineering knowledge and theoretical insights into:

  • Secure systems engineering.
  • Distributed application development.
  • Network and service architectures.
  • Cloud and mobile platforms.

We combine practical engineering skills with a strongly research-based curriculum. This way, we aim to attract special talent and educate game-changing, highly professional engineers to meet both the immediate hiring requirements and the long-term needs of the European ICT industry.

SECCLO is jointly offered by six European universities:

  1. Aalto University, Finland
  2. The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden
  3. The Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway
  4. Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark
  5. University of Tartu, Estonia
  6. EURECOM, France

Program Period

Two years.

The first year of the SECCLO curriculum is offered by Aalto University. The second year will be completed at one of the other consortium universities: KTH, NTNU, DTU, UT or EURECOM.

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

To be able to be considered eligible for SECCLO studies, you will need to fulfill general eligibility requirements and student selection criteria.

1- General Eligible Requirements:

  • Your previous higher education institution needs to be officially recognized.
  • Your previous degree needs to fulfill our requirements.
  • If a language test is required from you, your scores will need to fulfill our minimum requirements and you will need to submit the result as instructed.
  • You will need to submit your online application and all compulsory application documents before the application deadline as instructed.

2- Student Selection Criteria :

A high quality Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent studies encompassing a minimum of 180 ECTS credits in Engineering (Computer Science or Information Technology).

– Required Background Consists Of Sufficient Studies In:

  • Mathematics (linear algebra, calculus, probability theory, statistics, and discrete mathematics).
  • Good programming skills.
  • Algorithms and data structures.
  • Databases.
  • Theory of computing.
  • Computer networks.
  • Software engineering.

– Knowledge Of The Following Areas Is Considered An Advantage:

  • Additional knowledge of mathematical methods.
  • Mobile applications.
  • Web software and online services.
  • Operating systems.
  • Distributed computing.
  • Embedded systems.
  • Advanced computer networking.
  • Information security and cryptography.

Opportunity Cost

(Fully Funded)

  1. Students from programme countries will gave €32 000. Per year.
  2. Students from partner countries will gave €47 000 Per year(if residence is less than 4 000 km from Aalto University) other wise is €49  000. Per year.
  •  It Includes :

-Tuition fees.

-Insurance.

– Cost for compulsory summer school participation.

  • Recommendation letters.
  • Language test scores (IELTS,TOEFL,CAE/CPE,Pearson Test of English).
