Honours Scholarship

The Honours Scholarship provides opportunities for exceptional students who have demonstrated academic excellence in their studies, and are either undertaking or intending to commence their Bachelor Honours year. This includes year long embedded honours programs.

An Honours degree is when you do another year of study after you finish your bachelor’s degree.

  • 4 years for these fields(Psychology, Engineering Advanced, Engineering, Civil Engineering,  Construction Engineering,  Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics and Mechatronics  Engineering, Bachelor of Business, Industrial Design, Podiatric Medicine, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy,  Laws.
  • 1 year for Nursing

Eligibility Requirements (Criteria)

  • Be Australian citizens, permanent residents of Australia or International fee-paying student
  • Have maintained a minimum GPA of 5.5 (credit plus average)
  • Be applying to study full-time in a Bachelor Honours program OR be currently undertaking a Bachelor Honours program full-time
  • Students who are transferring from another University to undertake a Bachelor Honours program are encouraged to apply.

Opportunity Cost

(Partially Funded)

  • $5,000 for one year

How to Apply

First Step:

Apply for admission to the University. Obtaining and accepting a scholarship does not guarantee you an offer to a course. Information on how to apply to a course can be accessed from the Future Students site.

Second Step:

Create an account to log in to Western Sydney University Online Application through this link  then your password and other information about your account will be sent to the given email address

then login in to Western Sydney University Online Application and submit the required documents:

  • Personal Statement
  • Year 12 school report and/or Higher School Certificate results
  •  ATAR Results
  • Certificate of achievement or participation
  • Copies of major awards/prizes
  • Referee reports or testimonials

Third Step: 

Once the applications have been assessed and the outcomes known, all applicants are notified within six weeks of the scholarship closing date.
